Lovely place. Food delicious, staff friendly and helpful. Comfy and clean rooms, what else do you need. Spent 2 nights here in the annex rooms, bonus having the conservatory to our selves. would highly recommend the hotel. We will most definitely be back again

What a fabulous stay in this wonderful hotel. Food amazing, staff - shout out to Adam and Marty - were brilliant. Room spotless, and the views are outstanding. We had a superior room with a verandah and it's been the best break for ages. Menu choices suit all diets and they were so flexible in adapting menu to meet dietary requirements

We are currently on a two day stay at the Fernhill , we were greeted by a very nice receptionist who seemed to be running the place , checked us in , served us our beers and even came back after a while to see if wanted another , we did our room is lovely n spacious , with a sea view ( while I say sea view but the double glazing has popped in both windows ) and two lovely cumphy arm chairs , really clean ,most staff very friendly and efficient especially in the dining room .food very good especially breakfast port Patrick is a lovely seaside village We are on a Wowcher deal and is worth every penny , thank you Fernhill.

Absolutely stunning views. Food amazing and all the staff were very friendly and attentive. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Could do with a wee bit updating in rooms and corridors. Drawing room and restaurants lovely and again with amazing views. Managed to sit out and enjoy the sun but would definitely benefit from having a larger outdoor sitting area.

This hotel has spectacular views and sits in a fabulous location ( especially if you are a golfer) . The staff are pleasant and helpful . The room we had was spacious with a balcony however very dated. It would not take much effort to update upcycle the drab brown furtniture. My biggest shock was two fold. The rooms are not serviced!! Why would you want to stay in a room when the bed isnt made, bins not emptied and the toilet not cleaned? We paid £136 per night on room only tariff!! And received no service. Now lets talk food....the food is so overpriced and it was tasteless. We got fish and chips and they were cooked from frozen.. charge £17 per serving!!! that was the first and last time we ate in the hotel. ( see pic) This hotel has great potential but no return visit for us until that potential has been reached .

Just back after a 3 night stay. We have stayed many times but this was the first time since the MacMillan family sold their 3 hotels in the area to Bespoke Group. We weren’t disappointed as it has still retained its charm and fantastic service from all of its staff, lead by the lovely Hotel Manager Rosie who couldn’t do enough for us and works extremely hard. As usual we stayed in one of the rooms in the newer block which has outside terrace to sit out and this was extremely welcome during the fantastic weather we had during our stay. If we had to criticise it would just be that these rooms really need updating now, they are starting to look tired and out of date, but saying that the rooms are very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Dinner in the restaurant is now maybe not as “fine dining” as it used to be (no longer get hors d’oeuvres, or coffee/petit fours afterwards) but the service is fantastic , the menu is wide ranging and very good quality and we were overall very satisfied with the food we had. Breakfast is also very good. I must also thank the chef and his team for accommodating my husbands gluten intolerance - there was separate menu for him for dinner with lots of choice and always gluten free bread options including at breakfast. We loved our stay and we love Portpatrick so hope to be back very soon. Thank you.

"I had a wonderful stay that was absolutely perfect. The staff were really nice and went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The views were amazing and truly added to the overall experience. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The location was ideal, offering easy access to local attractions while still providing a peaceful retreat. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable stay

If you could give 3 1/2 stars that would be my true rating solely based on standard of the room . We were in room 46 which is a magnificent large room with stunning sea views but it is totally let down by the standard of furnishings . It reminded me of an old folks care home which for the price you pay is not great . I’ve attached pictures of various issues although it pains me to do so as we loved our stay at the hotel . Firstly I do not agree with the not servicing rooms to save the environment although more and more hotels are doing this , tbf to them I put my card on door saying I wanted room serviced and this was done while we were out . This hotel could be so much more , bathroom refurb , mini fridge in room , fresh decor and furnishing and it would be up there with the best . Now for the positives , the communal areas are all lovely and very fresh looking, the staff are amazing and a true credit to the hotel , nothing was too much trouble for them and everything was done with a smile , we had dinner our first night and the food and service were very good . Breakfast was also delicious with a good choice of both hot and cold options and again the waiting staff were lovely and very attentive . I would’ve liked black pudding with my breakfast but that’s a personal choice . To sum up I would stay here again if I visit portpatrick mainly because of the staff and spectacular views from the room but hopefully the rooms get the tlc they need and deserve by then .

Many thanks to Rosie and the staff at the Fernhill hotel for another great stay. You are a credit to the owners, for being so professional on how you look after all your visitors. This was our fifth time staying here and we will certainly be back for a visit again next year.
